NOTICE NO 98/2017

Graaff-Reinet Advertiser - - Voorblad -

ATTENTION ALL WATER CONSUMERS IN GRAAFF-REINET: WATER DISRUPTION Currently, the Municipality is experiencing major challenges with the supply of water.

Consequently, the water supply from the dam is closed-off as dam levels are not adequate to supply water. Thus water is supplied from boreholes. This necessitates all consumers in the Municipality to immediately adhere to the water restriction notice attached. You are further requested to use water very sparingly.

The water provision will be interrupted from time to time, and we can expect challenges regarding water supply to be available.

Residents located in higher areas must ensure that they always have buckets filled with water as water will not be always being readily available.

The municipality is considering even more drastic steps such as rationing of water.

Residents are requested to immediately report all water leaks and also look out for any leaks of their toilets (water that runs continuously from the cistern bowl to the toilet bowl).

The municipality, in terms of By-law No. 1628 of 20 November 2006, reserves the right to set any water restrictions to save water.

Your cooperation is much appreciated. DR E RANKWANA MUNICIPAL MANAGER
