Graaff-reinet 15 SANDF recruiting in Graaff-reinet and surrounds
GRAAFF-REINET — The Department of Defence is recruiting young, fit and healthy candidates who are citizens of the Republic of South Africa for its Military Skills Development System in the South African National Defence Force.
This is a two-year voluntary programme aimed at affording young people the chance to serve in uniform and acquire skills.
There are five different types of training on offer, all of which require at least a Grade 12 (matric) pass. The S A Army offers combat and support musterings, the SA Navy has combat, engineering, technical, support and the maritime reaction sections, and the SA Airforce takes aspiring pilots, navigators, engineers, and technical and general applicants. Intelligence training is available with Defence Intelligence across all three services.
Applicants complying with the minimum requirements will be subjected to further screening, and candidates identified will then be invited to partake in a selection process.
Application forms for candidates wishing to join the various branches are now available for collection from venues around the municipality. The closing dates for the services are all February 28, 2018.
In Graaff-reinet, the forms can be collected from the Robert Sobukwe Building (Mrs Abader, Ms Smith, or Mrs Kubashe), the Auditorium, and the Town Hall. They are also available from Umasizakhe Library and the Kroonvale offices.
Further afield, forms are available at the Willowmore and Steytlerville Youth Centres, Rietbron and Baviaanskloof libraries, and the municipal offices in Jansenville, Klipplaat, Nieu Bethesda, and Aberdeen.
Ward councillors should also have copies available.
The municipal offices are open from 07:30 to 16:30, with a lunch break between 13:00 and 14:00.
