Be­cau­se you CAN walk, CAN run, CAN ri­de, but most im­por­tant­ly, be­cau­se you CAN ce­le­bra­te your he­alth, or be­cau­se you CAN do so in me­mo­ry of so­meo­ne de­ar who has pas­sed a­way, or be­cau­se you CAN sup­port CANCER pro­jects and sur­vi­vors.

08:30 - Val­ley Ga­te: Clas­sic car ent­hu­si­as­ts start their Val­ley trip up to Rib­bok­berg braai a­rea.

09:00 - Val­lei­hek: Rol­stoel- en ge­strem­de at­le­te spring weg.

09:10 - Val­ley Ga­te: Pre-s­chool le­ar­ners / pa­rents start their 500m - 3km walk/run/ri­de.

09:00 - Gan­na­laag­te: 11km berg­fiet­se spring weg.

09:10 - Gan­na­laag­te: 5km en 11km hi­kers/ run­ners start.

09:00 - Im­pan­ge­le­hek: 45km Pro MTB spring weg.

09:00 - Mo­tor­bi­ke group: they will ri­de out to the wa­ter­fall - ap­prox­i­ma­te­ly 26km on the Mur­rays­burg ro­ad (R63) and on their re­turn pay the Graaff-rei­net Cancer As­so­ci­a­ti­on la­dies a vi­sit at the Val­ley ga­te.

P­ri­or to all e­vents star­ting, all par­ti­ci­pants ha­ve to com­ple­te an in­dem­ni­ty form at their re­specti­ve ga­te which al­so ser­ves as an en­try form. Af­ter de­po­si­ting their do­na­ti­on in­to the do­na­ti­on box, they will ta­ke up their star­ting po­si­ti­ons as in­structed.

Par­ke­ring by die on­der­skeie weg­spring­plek­ke sal met par­ke­rings­te­kens aan­ge­dui word.

Stu­den­te van die Eas­t­ca­pe Mid­lands Col­le­ge sal deel­ne­mers help met die par­ke­ring en die be­vei­li­ging van die voer­tuie. Slegs deel­ne­mers aan die voor­skool­se- en ge­strem­de-wed­loop by die Val­lei­hek, mag daar par­keer - ver­by die in­gang aan die Mur­rays­burg-kant van die hek.

Me­dals will be pre­sen­ted to all par­ti­ci­pants in the 'Su­per­hero' e­vent at the start of the e­vent. Par­ti­ci­pants may choo­se which dis­tan­ce they are going to do and do not need com­ple­te the full 3km.

Par­king for the 5km and 11km e­vents will be mar­ked and re­gu­la­ted by stu­dents of the Eas­t­ca­pe Mid­lands Col­le­ge on the left hand si­de of the ro­ad as you dri­ve to­wards the grid on the R63 ro­ad. Par­king for the 45km Pro MTB e­vent will be a­vai­la­ble on the op­po­si­te si­de of the ro­ad.

Al­le deel­ne­mers aan die 5km, 11km of die 45 km wed­lo­pe moet - voor die weg­spring - ‘n vry­wa­rings­vorm by hul on­der­skeie in­gan­ge vol­tooi wat ook as ‘n in­skry­wings­vorm dien.

Do­na­sies kan in die do­na­sie­hou­ers ge­plaas word.

Deel­me­ners sal by die A­sem­skep­stop op die 5km en 11km wed­lo­pe, hul on­der­skeie me­dal­jes ont­vang.

Par­ti­ci­pants of the 45km Pro MTB e­vent will do a dou­ble 16,5km secti­on in­to the ga­me vie­wing a­rea of the Cam­de­boo Na­ti­o­nal Park and will be ac­com­pa­nied by two vehi­cles with ar­med ran­gers on this secti­on.

On com­ple­ti­on of the dou­ble loop, they will cross in­to the Gan­na­laag­te and Win­ter­hoek secti­ons of the Park - a dis­tan­ce of ap­prox­i­ma­te­ly 12.5km. No clim­bing of the dre­a­ded Ku­dus­kloof is in­clu­ded in the rou­te!

C­re­a­ti­ve minds are al­re­a­dy thin­king of i­de­as for the Re­cy­cle Fashi­on Show at the Ka­roo-lus Fe­s­ti­val on Sa­tur­day, 29 Sep­tem­ber.

This is e­vent is being hos­ted by the ACVV on be­half of Huis van de Graaff.

The the­me for this y­e­ar is Fai­ryta­les, and the cre­a­ti­ons can ta­ke the form of a fan­cy dress cos­tu­me to be mo­del­led on the day, or a par­ty de­co­ra­ti­on such as a ta­ble cen­tre­pie­ce.

E­ach ca­te­go­ry will be split in­to two age groups, so that pri­ma­ry s­chool child­ren are not jud­ged a­gainst a­dults: the ju­ni­or e­vent is for pri­ma­ry s­chool or nur­se­ry s­chool child­ren, and the se­ni­or, for high s­chool pu­pils and a­dults. The­re will be gre­at pri­zes a­vai­la­ble in e­ach ca­te­go­ry and age group.

Cre­a­ti­ons are to be ma­de pri­ma­ri­ly from Mon­te­go bags, alt­hough of cour­se ot­her ma­te­ri­als may al­so be u­sed. Cle­an new bags can be obtai­ned for free at the Mon­te­go of­fi­ces.

The e­vent will start at 12:00 on the Sa­tur­day, and en­trants are a­sked to re­port to the or­ga­ni­sers by 11:30 at the la­test.

The­re is no ad­di­ti­o­nal en­try fee for the e­vent, just the fe­s­ti­val en­tran­ce char­ge.
