Don't miss the Ka­roo-lus Fe­s­ti­val's last hur­rah t­his wee­kend!

T­his po­pu­lar fe­s­ti­val, which has been held an­nu­al­ly in Graaff-rei­net o­ver the last eig­ht y­e­ars, is set to end as its or­ga­ni­sers fo­cus on new pro­jects.

The Ka­roo-lus Fe­s­ti­val has been an im­por­tant an­nu­al fix­tu­re on the to­wn's ca­len­dar sin­ce 2010 with top class en­ter­tai­n­ment pro­vi­ded on the fe­s­ti­val's grounds and so­me of South A­fri­ca's be­st en­ter­tai­ners ta­king to the sta­ge.

Ho­we­ver, t­his y­e­ar's fe­s­ti­val - ta­king pla­ce t­his wee­kend, 28 and 29 Sep­tem­ber - will be the last.

In a sta­te­ment re­le­a­sed e­ar­lier t­his y­e­ar by Mon­te­go Pet Nutri­ti­on's di­rec­tors, the or­ga­ni­sers an­noun­ced that they, af­ter much de­li­be­ra­ti­on, had co­me to the de­ci­si­on of ma­king t­his y­e­ar's fe­s­ti­val the fi­nal, but al­so most ex­ci­ting and lar­ge­st e­di­ti­on, en­ding the Ka­roo-lus Fe­s­ti­val on the hig­hest no­te pos­si­ble.

Mon­te­go Pet Nutri­ti­on con­fir­med that they will con­ti­nue to sup­port the lo­cal com­mu­ni­ty, cha­ri­ties, and schools through their va­ri­ous so­ci­al re­spon­si­bi­li­ty pro­jects. The spon­sors­hip which Mon­te­go has con­tri­bu­ted to Ka­roo-lus o­ver the y­e­ars will be u­ti­li­sed to­wards nu­me­rous ex­ci­ting u­plift­ment pro­jects.

The Ka­roo-lus com­mit­tee furt­her com­men­ted that they are look­ing for­ward to en­ding the Ka­rool­us sto­ry on a po­si­ti­ve no­te t­his wee­kend.

"We ha­ve in­cre­a­sed our last and fi­nal mo­ne­ta­ry spon­sors­hip to en­s­u­re we end on a high no­te and to ma­ke it a me­mo­ra­ble ex­pe­rien­ce for all who at­tend," said Bron­wen Ja­cobs, he­ad of the Ka­roo-lus com­mit­tee.

T­his y­e­ar's fe­s­ti­val sta­ge li­ne-up will see acts li­ke Ap­pel, Touch of Class, De­wald Wasser­fall, Ri­a­na Nel, S­not­kop, The Camp­bells, Fat­man, lo­cal ar­tist Ne­ri­ka van der Mer­we, Le­ah, Emo A­dams and The Par­lo­to­nes - Jo Black ha­ving to, un­for­tu­na­te­ly, can­cel his ap­pea­ran­ce be­cau­se of an e­mer­gen­cy me­di­cal pro­ce­du­re.
