Graag be­dank ek die he­le ge­meen­skap van Graaff-rei­net vir hul oop­hand teen­oor die E­den­hof Diens­sen­trum, so­wel as elk­een wat dié jaar be­trok­ke was op ver­skil­len­de ma­nie­re.

Spe­si­a­le dank aan die vol­gen­de per­so­ne: Chris Ser­fon­tein, vir die ma­nier wat jy din­ge doen as ek jou no­dig het; A­ni­ta en A­ne­li­ze vir die be­der­fies nou en dan; Paul S­choe­man vir die wild­vleis; Jo­han en Et­tien Ter­blan­che vir die vleis, dit was 'n groot hulp op ons be­gro­ting; die Grf Bi­kers vir die in­wo­ners se be­derf­pak­kies; Mon­te­go Pet Nutri­ti­on vir sken­kings ont­van; die Nieu-bethesda ge­meen­kap vir be­derf en do­na­sies dwars­deur die jaar; die NG Graaff-rei­net-ge­meen­te vir 'n deur­kol­lek­te by­dra per jaar en Gra­naat (Buks Ma­rais) vir die won­der­li­ke be­derf met die wild­park rit - dit was 'n baie be­son­der­se dag vir die in­wo­ners.

Som­tyds het ek nie 'n naam by 'n sken­king nie, aan die an­der per­so­ne, wat goed skenk en gee deur die jaar, wees ver­se­ker ons waar­deer dit op­reg.

E­den­hof se ba­saar vind plaas op 3 No­vem­ber, u moet asb die Sa­ter­dag oop hou en ons on­der­steun. Ek soek nog sken­kings vir die vleis­ta­fel as ie­mand graag kan help.

Om­dat die ker­rie­vis so ge­wild is, vra ek dat u voor­af moet be­stel en dit dan af­haal by die ba­saar.e­den­hof hou al­tyd lek­ker ba­saar!

The fi­nal count­do­wn has be­gun with litt­le mo­re than a week left be­fo­re this y­e­ar's ma­tri­cu­lants be­gin wri­ting their fi­nal ex­ams.

To the stu­dents who will soon be in the thick of t­hings, e­ver­yo­ne at the Graaff­rei­net Ad­ver­ti­ser wis­hes you success in your 2018 ex­ams and ho­pe you will all be en­ri­ched by the re­wards of your hard work.

You mig­ht be fee­ling stres­sed, o­ver­w­hel­med, con­fu­sed and so very ti­red we un­der­stand that, but keep going. Gi­ve it e­ver­y­thing you’ve got - you’re ne­ar­ly the­re - and know that w­ha­te­ver hap­pens next, you’ve got w­hat it ta­kes for an a­ma­zing li­fe - your fi­nal gra­des won’t chan­ge that. The po­ten­ti­al in you is un­li­mi­ted, w­het­her you’ve re­a­li­sed it yet or not.

The­re will be choi­ces, twis­ts and turns in your path, and a lot of that path won’t be a­ny­thing li­ke you i­ma­gi­ned. That’s one of the beau­ti­ful t­hings a­bout li­fe. So­me­ti­mes t­hings will work out ex­act­ly as you thoug­ht, and so­me­ti­mes t­hings will be dif­fe­rent. It’s in the u­nex­pected that the ma­gic hap­pens so ta­ke no­ti­ce of your di­sap­point­ments - they are of­ten op­por­tu­ni­ties, dis­gui­sed as so­mething el­se.
