Choose your friends wisely, DA

Grocott's Mail - - MAKANA VOICES -

The irony of Devon Waldick’s letter (DA must focus on service delivery, Grocott's Mail 9 December) is glaring on a number of levels. Firstly, Waldick is himself a failed former city councillor who now seeks to hold the DA’s councillor for Ward 4, Brian Fargher, to account.

Second, he does so as a member of the “ruling party” which is primarily accountable for service delivery in Makana but has led Makana into its state of ruin.

Third, as a member of the ANC, he now turns on the DA which protected him in his position as a councillor long after he was supposed to have vacated the position because it suited their purposes to do so.

There is a lesson for the DA in this: choose your friends wisely and never compromise your principles.
