Strid­ing out in Kowie

The Kowie Strid­ers Box­ing Day fun run/walk saw over 650 hol­i­day mak­ers and res­i­dents take part in the an­nual event. Ath­letes could choose be­tween an 8km and a 5km op­tion, both start­ing from the Port Al­fred Coun­try Club. The 8km was won by Dyrrick Arnolds, while Terri-Lynn Pen­ney won the women’s race. In the 5km Jeremiah Baker was first over­all, with Ebe van der Merwe first fe­male. See Know the Score on page 28 for more results. The main spon­sors were Re­max and Com­pen­dium, whose spon­sor­ship in­cluded drinking glasses to all fin­ish­ers. Other spon­sors in­cluded Bruno pan­el­beat­ers, SPAR Rose­hill Mall, BUCO, Sports n All and Siza.
