Dagga, booze, electric cables in crime bust
Police seized liquor worth more than R3 600 and issued a 61-yearold woman with a R1 500 fine in a case of dealing in liquor during a Back to Basics Operation in Grahamstown this week. The operation on Tuesday focused on the illegal sale of liquor, and drugs.
In the same operation, 29 bompies and two loose bags of dagga valued at nearly R500 was found abandoned at Transit Camp, as well as Eskom electrical cable valued at approximately R1 500.
Meanwhile, in Peddie, a case of business burglary was opened following a report that safes at the Peddie Post Office had been accessed and an undisclosed amount of cash taken.
“Details of the incident are currently under investigation by SAPS crime scene experts and specialist investigators,” Govender said in a statement. “No arrests have been made. An appeal is made to any person with information to Contact their nearest police station or the crime stop number on 0860 010 111.
