Grocott's Mail - - SPORT - STAFF REPORTER

The Kingswood 1st Girls’ Water Polo team had a formidable start to the Water Polo season on Saturday 27 January. Coming off the December holidays, which saw 11 of the 1st team girls in provincial teams at the SA Schools Championships, the Kingswood side was as keen to make a bold statement in the lead up to the St Peter’s Tournament in March.

In what promised to be an exciting festival of Water Polo, Collegiate Girls High School travelled to Grahamstown to play a full set of fixtures against both Kingswood and DSG. Thereafter, Kingswood and DSG would continue their friendly rivalry in the pool, also playing a full set of fixtures against each other. All through the age-groups, matches were tightly contested, however it was at 1st team level that things really became competitive.
