A sacrifice by municipal officials?

Grocott's Mail - - OPINION AND ADVICE -

Dear fellow Grahamstonians/makhanda-onians, I refer to the Facebook discussion last weekend regarding a possible rates and taxes diversion. I have given the matter deeper thought based on the comments posted by those who have the well-being of our town at heart.

I have an idea: I challenge the leadership at the Makana Municipality, if they really care for this town and its people, to donate the value of their rates and taxes to Makana Revive for infrastructure maintenance and, in addition, to willingly have their properties expropriated for the homeless.

I look forward to a reply from the Makana Municipality leadership.
