A rainbow dream

Home Paint It - - YOUR SPACE -

Charlotte Pretorius of Klerksdorp writes My dream begins with a rainbow. At the end of it there are tins and tins of paint; enough to paint every shack and RDP house in South Africa. Our townships should have colourful houses in green, yellow, red, purple, blue and orange.

If I could extend my dream further, I'd proclaim the day after the election as National Paint Day, a public holiday. While the IEC counts the votes, the people of our nation can paint houses so that they look beautiful for the next five years. In this way, a new sense of community will be created among our people while everyone strives to make their homes more attractive.

It’s a big dream, but maybe one day there will be a rainbow big enough for our country. And it’s so nice to dream…
