Get it right with white

I’d like to paint our brick fireplace white; which paint will withstand extreme heat?

Use a scrubbing brush and sugar soap to clean the bricks; allow to dry completely. Then paint the inside of the fireplace with Duram NS7 Heat Resistant Paint. However, you can leave the inner bricks unpainted. Then follow one of two methods: 1 Paint the bricks on the outside with a water-based primer such as Dulux Supergrip and let them dry. Then apply a washable waterbased white paint such as Dulux Pearlglo. You will need two coats.

2 Use Annie Sloan paint in the colour Pure to paint the fireplace with one or two coats. No primer is needed. Seal the paint with a water-based varnish such as Harlequin Waterbased Varnish.
