Reason for renovation

At first, Johanette and Bernard Judels wanted to build a nursery as their youngest child, Alinka, was on the way, but they decided instead to renovate their kitchen. And, as so often happens with home renovations, Alinka still doesn’t have her own bedroom, laughs Johanette. But she’s not complaining!

The Judels have been living in their home for six years and they’re tackling their renovations one room at a time. The kitchen was refurbished in mid-2014.

“It was a tiny space and because it was in the middle of the house, it was quite dark as there weren’t many windows. There was also a small courtyard adjacent to it that was very impractical,” says Johanette.

Fortunately, Bernard is a builder with his own construction company, P3construction, and after about a month of hard work, the new kitchen was complete – just in time for the arrival of baby Alinka! >>
