A blossoming beauty

Home (South Africa) - - BRIGHT IDEA! -

Linda and Almarie thoroughly enjoy working in their garden and have in the past two years transformed it from an unruly mass of plants – and their builder’s dumping site – into a feast for the eyes. “Our rose garden is our pride and joy and the blooms this year are magnificent!” says Linda. This section of the garden was the last piece of land Linda and Almarie had to recover after their builders had left. In 2015, the couple entered the Knysna Rose Show and walked away with two prizes! “We were thrilled, considering where we’d started with the rose garden and what it looks like today,” Linda says. >> Sheila and Barbra, the wire sheep (above), were bought at a craft market in Sedgefield. A shady sitting area (top right) with peach pip groundcover is directly under one of two large fig trees in the garden. “Inca lilies sprout up here each year; it’s wonderful to see their necks stretching as they find the sun,” Linda says.
