Nina Zeeman of Ceres writes The water on our farm is so iron-rich that our shower glass is permanently dull; I’ve tried everything to no avail. Could I stick pretty vinyl tiles like those featured in your magazine on the outside of the shower door?

Heidi van der Westhuizen of Heidi J Design replies My vinyl tiles are waterproof and they’ll stay on as long as you apply them on a smooth surface. They work beautifully on tiles and glass, so this is the ideal solution for you. I have often used the vinyl tiles in moist areas such as on splashbacks above basins, and they last. They will definitely work on a glass shower door too.

Stick the tiles on the outside of the shower glass. Moisten the glass first, then stick on the self-adhesive tiles and smooth out any bubbles. The white backing of the vinyl tiles will be visible from the inside. >>
