is House and Leisure’s intrepid general manager. She’s worked in Media24’s lifestyle magazines division as account manager, before which she spent five years living in Zürich. Describe your dream home. Loads of wood and natural stone with big double-glazed windows, a view overlooking Table Mountain, a large veranda and a library filled to the ceiling with books. What’s the best thing about winter? Running in the crisp cold on one of those notoriously beautiful Cape winter days. What’s on your list of decor essentials for the season? A David Bellamy blanket from MRP

What does family mean to you? All-time favourite designers and artists? STEFANIE JASON, a writer and copy editor based in Joburg, has worked on Bona, True Love and Sowetan, as well as the Mail & Guardian. She handles our art feature this month (page 42), discussing Henri Matisse’s pivotal North African inspiration. Describe your dream home. Comfortable, warm and full of culture (art, music and books), a bit of incense and a lot of love. What’s the best thing about winter? Hibernating, wine and spooning. What’s on your list of decor essentials for the season? Knitted throws. What does family mean to you? A lot, most of the time. Alltime favourite designers and artists? There are so many, but I’d say my photojournalist father, Fanie Jason. What are your go-to colours? I like white in my apartment, and black clothes. JACQUES ERASMUS, owner of Cape Town eatery Hemelhuijs – not to mention an artist and an interior designer – got cracking with quinces for our ‘Three Ways With’ article (page 94). What would your ideal kitchen have in it? A La Cornue Grand Palais cooker. What is your signature dish? Grilled loin of lamb with lots of minted béarnaise! What do you love most about your kitchen? The old brick floor and the joy of cooking with French copper pots. What are your favourite cities for food? Istanbul, Hong Kong, Rome and Ho Chi Minh. What’s an easy way to upgrade your kitchen? Have everything painted the same colour – cupboards and walls. Install the best stove you can afford and invest in beautiful, high-quality cookware. What are you coveting for your bedroom right now? A Hästens bed and Anton Karstel painting.

Home and a Hertex Tidal throw. Having dinner together, sharing our dreams with our kids and making memories. Fritz Hansen, from a furniture perspective – and I love the work of Astrid Dahl.
