Two of the rugs that KLÛK CGDT designed in collaboration with Mae Pakdoust of Mae Artisan rugs. ‘We actually work as a fashion consultancy,’ says Cape Town-based designer Malcolm Kluk of KLÛK CGDT while discussing the fashion brand’s collaboration with Mae Artisan Rugs. ‘We love the challenge of all disciplines in design, and rugs were just another angle to work from. Rugs are so important in an interior space because they frame the setting. While playing with colours and pixelation, we came upon the first design and it flowed from there. The strong graphics are modern and will contemporise the furniture in a space, adding another dimension to the layering that we like so much.’
