Zodwa is brand director at Livity Africa, writes for publications and contributes to The Noonday Tune, a website that encourages people to explore different music genres. She and her sister Zanele are founders of the monthly Joburg music event Sunday143. For this issue, Zodwa wrote about Christine Read’s remarkable Joburg home (page 66). What’s your favourite art form? Sculpture is so evocative that it has moved me to tears on a few occasions. Who are some of your favourite African artists? Johannes Segogela, Sam Nhlengethwa, Portia Zvavahera, Meleko Mokgosi and Athi-Patra Ruga. Dream galleries or museums around the world you’d like to visit? I’d start with The Louvre in Paris, Smithsonian American Art Museum in Washington DC, MoMA in New York, White Cube in London and Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago. If money were no object, what work of art would you treat yourself to? A piece by Meleko Mokgosi.
