Gather the fam­ily at Gabriël­skloof Es­tate in the Western Cape this win­ter for some whole­some French farm-style cui­sine. As part of their win­ter of­fer­ing – which runs from May to the end of Au­gust at the Gabriël­skloof Res­tau­rant – Chef Frans Groe­newald is serv­ing up a “Shar­ing Sundays” ban­quet menu for only R300 per per­son. “This menu is all about com­pan­ion­ship awak­ened by de­li­cious food,” Chef Frans says. The menu boasts rich, saucy and flavour­ful com­fort food, from duck à l’or­ange and coq au vin to cas­soulet, crème brûlée, tarte tartin, and crêpes suzette. Can’t make it on a Sun­day? The week-day win­ter menu is just as tasty, priced at R210 per per­son for two cour­ses and R250 per per­son for three.
