GLEN SALMON ON MBATHA

-

Bidvest Wits’ Head of Academy Affairs and former Bafana Bafana striker Glen Salmon says he is excited to see how Mbatha develops in the coming years. “We got him in with the Under19s at first, but we quickly realised that in many ways he’s a cut above the rest. He’s a very good player – techically, probably one of the best out of all the juniors,” he says. “He’s very nippy and is also able to see the game very well. I think there’s more in store for him, but at least he’s taking the right steps. “What I really like about him is his attitude – we have a lot of youngsters who get a chance to come on the field and you can see their body language becomes poor, but with Mbatha, he’s just hungry to be there and that’s the biggest attribute for me. “Some players wilt under pressure, but I think he’s one to stand out, and confidence-wise he’s ready to step up in South Korea.”
