Widen the PSL coaching pool

Kick Off - - LETTERS -

It is quite a shame at how slowly the game and its methodology is progressing in the country. Stuart Baxter understands the brand of football that he wants and clearly wants more coaches that have been involved in European football to take charge of clubs in the PSL so that the brand will become a more competitive one, challenging for cups and qualifying for major tournaments without hesitation. Englishman Rob McDonald, one of the top pioneer coaches of the early PSL days, is wanting to come back into the country to deliver yet another successful stint, but is finding it difficult to nail down a position. What seems to be the problem with South African clubs, or are they blinded by their own incompetence? McDonald has a solid identity and a good base for unravelling success in the elite game today in this country. Give him a chance! Wyndham Van Vuuren, via email
