Absa Premiership sponsorship

The PSL is an attractive brand and I believe they will not struggle to get an equally attractive partner. Thank-you Castle Lager for being a trailblazer, thank-you Absa for a memorable 16 years of supporting the Beautiful Game! By Kebalepile Khula

This is a wonderful opportunity for MTN and Vodacom. Already the MTN8 has a huge marketing audience and their cup offers R8-million in prize-money to the winner, so they can up it and become PSL sponsor. Vodacom can replace the MTN8 cup or challenge for the league sponsor. Patrice Motsepe can also be a sponsor. Even though it would have a lot of questions marks in regard to his relationship with Sundowns, it would be nice to see South African black businesses investing in what we pride ourselves in. I’m not surprised Absa have pulled out, it came just after Barclays Bank parted ways with Absa and most of their customers moved their accounts to other banks because of their mad charges. Good luck to PSL in finding the replacement sponsor. By Benjie Gumede
