A recipe for healing
Steenbok Nature Reserve is proud to announce the publication of a second edition of Shared Recipes, following its successful launch a year ago. This recipe book, first sold at the 2016 Leisure Isle Festival, was made possible by many friends and followers of Steenbok sharing their recipes.
Contributions came from far and wide and include many family favourites.
There are also some happy and amusing stories as well as interesting facts about Steenbok Nature Reserve sourced from its website, www.steenboknaturereserve.org. za.
The book is easy to use, with seasonal recipes. The first edition was sold out within two months and the proceeds used to generate further improvements to the reserve.
Steenbok management said the launch of this second edition is made with haunting memories of the fires still fresh in their minds.
“Our sister reserve, Pledge Nature Reserve, was destroyed. Rehabilitation of Pledge is well under way and, in support thereof, half of the proceeds of the sale of this edition are for the benefit of Pledge.” Steenbok has also pledged to promote this reserve once it is again opened to the public.
Copies of the second edition will be on sale at the Leisure Isle festival on the weekend of 4 and 5 November.
Half of the proceeds from the sale of Steenbok Nature Reserve’s recipe book, Shared Recipes, will go towards Pledge Nature Reserve that was destroyed in the June fires.
