Knys­na’s own “gal­lo­ping gran­ny”, 91-y­e­ar-old, Chris­ti­ne van Nop­pen, com­ple­ted 50 Knys­na par­k­runs this wee­kend.

On Sa­tur­day 28 Oc­to­ber, Van Nop­pen was ac­com­pa­nied by Pier­re de Wet – who al­so com­ple­ted 50 runs – and Leslie Procter who com­ple­ted her 100th run.

“Chris­ti­ne has been par­ti­ci­pa­ting in the Knys­na par­krun sin­ce March last y­e­ar and is a gre­at in­spi­ra­ti­on to all of us youn­ger folk. She is the­re most Sa­tur­days and al­ways turns up with a smi­le on her fa­ce, her hat on her he­ad, and her wal­king stick in her hand,” says Ken­ny Wil­kin­son, or­ga­ni­ser of the par­krun.

The Knys­na par­krun is a 5km run/walk which is held e­very Sa­tur­day mor­ning at 8:00, star­ting in Ge­or­ge Rex d­ri­ve. It is free to all en­trants. –

Chris­ti­ne van Nop­pen (91) pro­ves that age is no ex­cu­se w­hen it co­mes to li­ving a fit and he­althy li­fe­sty­le.
