Fish eag­les ta­ke to the wa­ter

On Sun­day 29 Oc­to­ber, mem­bers of the Fish Eag­les Mas­ters S­wim­ming Club gat­he­red at Groen­vlei to ha­ve a practi­ce o­pen-wa­ter swim and to build te­am spi­rit for the mas­ters na­ti­o­nals in P­re­to­ria in March 2018. From left: Lin­dy Mur­ray; La­nie Far­rel­ly; Jill Black; Ta­nya Li­vings­to­ne; Ju­dy Dixon; Han­nah Dos San­tos; A­de­lia dos San­tos; Ser­gio Dod San­tos; And­re Weid­man and Mi­ke M­cDo­nald. It was al­so a ce­le­bra­ti­on of the e­ven­tu­al ar­ri­val of me­dals won at the na­ti­o­nals in East Lon­don this y­e­ar. For­tu­na­te­ly, the wa­ter was cle­ar and calm so the group set off and swam a ki­lo­me­t­re be­fo­re the chai­r­per­son, Ju­dy Dixon, pre­sen­ted the me­dals. All par­ti­ci­pants de­cla­red the af­ter­noon a gre­at success and worth re­pe­a­ting re­gu­lar­ly. Get­ting to­get­her can be a pro­blem be­cau­se mem­bers ran­ge from Mos­sel Bay to P­let­ten­berg Bay, with one mem­ber in Ca­pe To­wn.
