New York company Bollinger has been teasing its all-electric 4x4 for ages, but now it has finally taken the covers off. Despite that thoroughly modern drivetrain, it looks surprisingly old-school. The B1 can be specced with either a 60 or a 100kWh battery pack, as well as a pair of electric motors providing 268kW of power and 640Nm of torque. Thanks to that instant torque from the electric power source, the 4×4 is quick, racing from 0–100km/h in 4.5 seconds. The 60kWh pack apparently provides 193km of driving range and charges in 7.3 hours on a standard charger (45 minutes on a fast charger). The 100kWh pack offers 320km of range and recharges in 12.1 hours (75 minutes on a fast charger). Off-road features include up to 500mm of ground clearance and a self-levelling independent suspension, as well as a permanent 4×4 system. With instant torque, it should be capable off-road. Bollinger hasn’t disclosed if it has some sort of crawler gear or other off-road mode that would optimise the powertrain for serious off-road driving. The price, as well as when it will actually be available for purchase, is also still unclear, but all will apparently be revealed soon.
