VW ATLAS IS SELLING UP A STORM
Volkswagen hasn’t had a lot of luck in the US of late. Not only has it had to deal with legal issues, but it has also struggled to compete with other Japanese brands on the North American continent. While the company is a sales leader locally, it is outsold by the likes of Subaru in the US. So, company executives are undoubtedly ecstatic about the success of the new Atlas SUV. The company managed to sell 2 413 of these SUVs in June, which accounted for half of all the brand’s utility sales. Americans love bakkies and SUVs, but have been struggling to sell utility vehicles there. In fact, only about 14% of its sales over the last few months have been in the SUV segment. The Atlas is set to change that.
