ZAMBIA LIUWA PLAINS AND THE BAT MIGRATION 20 November – 1 December 2018
We will visit Liuwa Plains NP in the western side of Zambia to experience the migration of the wildebeest. Weather permitting, the wildebeest return to the vast plains of Liuwa to feed on the new grass roots after the first rains. Also on the itinerary is a visit to Kasanka NP to experience yet another migration: around eight million straw-colour fruit bats that have migrated from Ghana and Gabon to feed in the area in and around Kasanka. All accommodation, park- and vehicle entrance fees are included in the price.
Price: R15 900 p/p (subject to change)
PONDOLAND (TRANSKEI WILD COAST) 20 – 28 october 2018
Pondoland, on the Wild Coast, is one of the destinations so many people would like to visit, but know so little about, and do not want to try on their own. It is a land of wild cattle and wilder beauty, of waterfalls plunging directly into the Indian Ocean, of colonies of vultures nesting above undisturbed forest gorges, and a beautiful but rugged coastline which boasts some of the most spectacular scenery in Southern Africa.
We’ll meet in Kokstad and, over the following eight days, travel via Msikaba, Mbotyi and Port St Johns to Coffee Bay and Hole in the Wall.
Price: R7 000 p/p (subject to change) Lodges and B&Bs can be an option
ISIMANGALISO TURTLE TOUR 2 – 8 December 2018
The turtle season stretches from the beginning of November and continues until mid-March when the nesting and hatching season comes to an end. Kosi Bay is the best place in South Africa for a turtle tour. We will overnight three nights in a B&B in Sodwana Bay before travelling via Lake Sibaya, Rocktail Bay and Lala Nek to Kosi Bay where we will stay in a self-catering tented camp for three nights. This route is completely off the beaten track and will take you on a sand track through some of the most beautiful coastal forest.
Price: R6 000 p/p (subject to change) Only lodges and B&Bs
