The BMW i3 made our entire office of 4×4 fanatics sit up and take notice.
It was our first encounter with an electric vehicle and we never grew tired of the instant torque, modern interior layout and, most importantly, not paying for fuel.
The i3 was quite expensive when it was launched but pricing has dropped to a point where it makes sense to purchase one as a second vehicle. Once again, it’s a case of leaving the X5 parked during the week, while you go about your business in silent luxury.
It’s entertaining, too, and able to sprint to 100km/h in less than eight seconds. Imagine the look on all the boy racers’ faces when you destroy them in a tiny electric BMW.
The third car in BMW’s i line-up is going to be an SUV, based on the current X3. In essence, BMW is combined two of our current favourite cars and we can’t wait.
