EYE SPY

Colour-blocking the eye area is another way to play with bold colour this winter. Work a pigment or powder across the entire eyelid to the point where the eye socket meets the brow bone. Apply a similar shade of eyeliner along the upper and lower lash lines to define the eye. Finish off with a few coats of mascara. A night out is a great opportunity to try this look. (While you’re at it, add a set of false lashes to up the volume on the drama.)

HIGHBROW

The importance of the eyebrow has become apparent in recent beauty seasons and has transcended the notion of simply being ‘a trend’. Experts have said that eyebrows can do both nothing and everything; they have the power to change the face completely. Shaping them correctly is a lesson on its own and, this time, we are giving them a brave pop of colour. Start with a freshly groomed eyebrow, brushed upwards and kept in place with a clear gel. Once set, dampen an angled brow brush and dip it into a pigment. Gently work the brush along the brow line to fill in all areas completely. Avoid drawing a hard solid line through the arch.

For this look, keep skin dewy and bare.

NAILING IT

The coloured brow may be only for the brave. OTT nails, however, are for everyone. They say ‘girls just want to have fun’, so why not start with the fingers? With a wide range of nail-art tools and tricks available, it’s not hard to join the trend. Work a geometric, colour-block pattern to align yourself with the multi-hued look. And, if lengthy manicure sessions won’t fit into your expense or time budget, opt for a pre-painted falsie or a printed nail sticker.
