Hotels for bees Interior designer Etienne Hanekom recently designed a Bee Hotel for Babylonstoren in the Cape Winelands. Inspired by the gable of a former 19th-century grain store on the farm, the space is designed for solitary bees to make individual nest cells for their larvae. The hotel has lots of tunnels and holes, and is made of natural materials and non-toxic sealers and renders. Shazaming fashion The next time you see someone wearing the perfect boots you’ve been searching for, or a jacket that would make your life complete, simply snap a picture and upload it to the app ASAP54. It will then be compared with thousands of similar pieces on its database that will let you know where to find your item – or a close second that looks just like it. If the technology can’t help, you can ask one of ASAP54’s real-life personal stylists to hunt it down for you. Download it for free on iOS.
