Marie Claire (South Africa) - - CATWALK BRIDE -

Fresh out of college, 22-year-old Daniella du Plessis has begun her design career in the bridal industry, where she felt there was a space

for something a little different. She has recently launched Honne, her label focusing on bridalwear, the word itself referring to genuine intimacy.‘I wanted to create something that broke

away from the traditional mould while still being beautiful and feminine. My concept centres on simple shapes that a bride can buy, knowing they fit perfectly. We take a shape and fit and customise it, so each bride’s

look is unique,’ says Daniella. We love the simplicity of these easy-to-wear shapes. The dresses show a new take on the often overcomplicated, traditional gowns we are used to. Bridesmaid’s dresses start at R1 200 and wedding gowns at R7 250 – and we can’t wait to see what this young designer comes up with next.
