In 1980, at only 14 years old, model and ac­tress Brooke Shields be­came the youngest model to ap­pear on the cover of Vogue mag­a­zine. Just a few months later, she ap­peared, fully clothed, in what would be­come a con­tro­ver­sial se­ries of print and TV ads for Calvin Klein jeans. The cam­paign was in­stru­men­tal in the de­signer’s rise to main­stream fame. The con­tro­versy? Shields’s tagline in the ad: ‘You want to know what comes be­tween me and my Calvins? Noth­ing.’
