Here’s how:

MAKE-UP BRUSHES

Step 1

Thoroughly rinse brushes under lukewarm running water.

Step 2

Mix some mild shampoo (baby shampoo is best) in a bowl of warm water, dunk in your brushes and use your fingers to gently rub off any stubborn make-up residue.

Step 3

Rinse brushes in warm water and dry either flat on a clean towel or with a hair dryer, if you’re in a rush. Never dry your brushes upright as the water will run into the base of the brush and loosen the glue holding the bristles together.

HAIR BRUSHES

step 1

Start by removing as much hair from the brush as possible. Use a pin or a toothpick to get to the difficultto-reach places.

step 2

For plastic hairbrushes, add some clarifying shampoo to a bowl of lukewarm water and soak the brush for about five minutes.

step 3

Take an old toothbrush and gently scrub the handle and inbetween the bristles before rinsing with clean water.

step 4

Face the bristles down on a clean, dry towel to dry.
