Marie Claire (South Africa) - - AGENDA -

UBERCHOPPER

See the Mother City from the sky with your very own UberChopper experience. Uber has partnered with Cape Town Helicopters to offer scenic trips at the touch of a smartphone button. It makes a breathtaking gift for someone you love (very much!), or a holiday treat for you and your friends.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Using the Uber app on your smartphone, select your location and request UberChopper. An UberBlack car will pick you up and whisk you to the helipad at the V&A Waterfront. After a flip around the Cape skies, another UberBlack takes you back home. There is no need for cash or tips – like all Uber experiences, payment is charged directly to your credit card, which is linked to the app.

WHERE DOES IT GO?

You can choose from three trips: a flight along the coast and over False Bay, passing Fish Hoek and Muizenberg; a flight from Cape Town to Cape Point; or a customised flight to any helipad in Cape Town.

ALL ABOUT UBER

If you haven’t yet joined the Uber craze, here’s what you need to know: Using an app downloaded for Android, iPhone, BlackBerry 7 and Windows Phone, you can request a car to collect you at almost any location and drop you off where you want to go. Your Uber profile is linked to your credit card, so there’s no scrambling for cash. By seamlessly connecting passengers and drivers, Uber makes cities more accessible and opens up more possibilities. Uber is available in more than 210 cities in 45 countries, including Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg (including Pretoria).
