What makes you feel masculine? A pair of boots that I’ve had forever – they feel like they’ve kicked over a stone or two on a dirt road in Montana and then spent the evening by the fire. What are the codes for a man today? Integrity and generosity of spirit. Elegance does not only involve the clothes you wear; it has much more to do with how you conduct yourself in this world. How do you feel about fragrance? Fragrances, as with clothing, say a lot about a person; it’s how you present yourself to the world. Just like a well-tailored suit, a cologne must fit just right. What do you think of the Armani Code film? It’s beautiful. Director Andrew Dominik created such a specific, mid-century feel, a bit futurist and with an architecture that feels straight out of Bernardo Bertolucci’s The Conformist. There’s a wash of blue to the colour of the film, which I think adds a sense of mystery. Which scene was the most difficult? The first scene with the revolving door. It was difficult for Andrew as he was looking for a particular mood, but it was a joy for me – the first moment I see the woman who catches my eye.Two strangers passing on their respective journeys glimpse one another, but in that moment realise they must see each other again. I loved the concept! GIORGIO ARMANI CODE HOMME 75ML
