FASHION TAKES FLIGHT
For this issue’s main fashion shoot, the team had a hot air balloon adventure at the picturesque De Hoek Country Hotel
Picture a grand, but not too ornate building set against the backdrop of the sprawling Magaliesberg, surrounded by lush greenery and a calming river. The air is clean and fresh; the building big enough for that luxury feel yet small enough to retain a quaint charm. De Hoek Country Hotel was the ideal location for this issue’s fashion stories. We packed up the team and headed just an hour out of busy ohannesburg to the serene surroundings of the ve star hotel.
De Hoek has the perfect mix of tradition and new world, with its stone walls that sit next to the modern upgrade of the hotel’s recent expansion. The country hotel is also proud of its gourmet dining o ering, and rightly so. Michael Holenstein leads the team of chefs in creating the most delicious food experiences every day, using only the best ingredients sourced for his daily bakery, ve course dinner experiences and culinary masterpieces.
While the main aim for most visitors is to unwind and relax, we busied ourselves with all the hotel had to o er river walks, croquet and, of course, a hot air ballooning adventure. While perhaps not a typical setting for a fashion shoot, the giant balloon, provided by the friendly team at Air Ventures, set the stage for one of our most exciting fashion stories yet.
