The US army has opened its Ranger School to women on a full-time basis, following the historic graduation of two female soldiers in August 2015. Kristen Griest, 26, and Shaye Haver, 25, became the from the programme after spending 61 days in one of the toughest training regimens in the US army (it has a 40% pass rate). The school has been central to the military’s ongoing research on integrating women into jobs in combat units; a journey that started in 2013 when Pentagon leaders made a landmark decision to open all jobs in the military to women.
