WHAT’S INSIDE HER CLOSET

Marie Claire (South Africa) - - FRONT PAGE - @boity BOITY THULO

Boity describes herself as a ‘homebody’ and her style reflects her easygoing attitude. ‘Comfort comes rst. I follow trends, but not too closely, always making sure that I feel comfortable in what I’m wearing.’ Quality is just as important to her. ‘It is something my mom instilled in me as a child. She always impressed the importance of quality clothing – and shoes especially ’ It was her eye for quality that she drew on with her design collaboration with Legit, which launched in July 2015. The collection, with a sports luxe focus, was a year-long project that saw Boity involved at every stage of the design process. ‘They approached me because of my health and tness regime and thought I would be the right person to introduce their gym collection,’ she says. Does she have a favourite piece? ‘It’s dif cult, but I’d say the white jumpsuit from the Nightlife range and the red two-piece – the skirt and crop top – that was clearly inspired by Kim Kardashian ’ Feeling beautiful and comfortable in her own skin is Boity’s main focus and her advice for other women. ‘Dress for your body in whatever makes you feel good.’ She loves to dress to emphasize her curves. This also in uenced her collection for Legit. ‘I wanted to represent women like me – I was thinking about the curvy girl and creating clothing she feels comfortable and sexy in.’ Boity is inspired by South African fashion. ‘It’s original. It’s fresh, colourful and I’m excited that we’re moving in our own direction.’ She’s using that fresh inspiration to build a career from her creativity – but she’s keeping mum for now on her plans for 201 . ‘Let’s just say I have exciting things coming up ’
