THE GOLDEN HOUR
Beauty goes classic with signature Old Hollywood elegance, complete with a golden glow
Update your red lip by swapping true red for a darker burgundy, wine and oxblood. Make your lip colour last longer by letting lipbalm sink in fully before filling your lips with a red pencil, exaggerating the cupid’s bow. Then apply lipstick and finish with a dab of translucent powder to set it.
The AW2016 shows featured graphic eyes with smouldering shadows and abstract shapes drawn in and around the eye area. Play up your lashes with layers of thickening mascara to clump them together, giving a cool edge without compromising on the drama.
IT’S ALL IN THE CURL
Hairstylist Saadique says, ‘Move past the slickedback look of late and embrace your hair texture, allowing it to be tactile and to move.’ Go full volume with your hair by exaggerating and defining curls. Saadique brings the afro-esque do back from the 70s by flattening out the roots and letting all the volume sit in the ends, and transforming the look by playing with centre-partings, extreme side partings and scraping it all back.
