After reaching the semi-final of The Great South African Bake Off , artist Alice Toich launched a baking zine called BAEK. We find out more

What is BAEK about? AE is a personal creative protect that has manifested into a paper ine as well as an online blog. The line is released quarterly and each issue has a handful of recipes, a lick of pseudo science, a sprinkle of poetry and a lot of sass.

What sparked the idea to do a zine around baking? Baking is a science but on The Great South African Bake Off I learned how to play with own avour combinations and ideas. I decided to create a protect for self after the show that would keep me breaking the baking rules.

What should everyone try to bake at least once? Bread! Even though I am a sucker for cakes and more delicate confectionary, I think the smell of freshly baked bread is the hook that will keep all first timers coming back for more.

What can we expect from BAEK Vol. 2? My ultimate chocolate chip cookie recipe, as well as a sachet of NOMU's new amazing just add water hot chocolate
