Better known as ‘Boity’, the actress, TV presenter and media darling dishes on her guilty pleasure, beauty secret and the importance of being an active citizen

Marie Claire (South Africa) - - MY STYLISH LIFE -

My signature style is

all about comfort and clothes that accentuate and celebrate my curves. My most recent purchase was

three pairs of shoes and a beautiful burgundy coat from Sissy Boy. My best purchase ever was

my house. But apart from that, it’s my silver and black Christian Louboutin heels - they are incredible. My guilty pleasure is perfume. I’m obsessed; I plan on buying one bottle but end up buying ve instead. What keeps me up at night is

mostly work. Preparing for the following day or a shoot, and learning my lines. I’m currently reading

four di erent books, but the one that stands out is The Magic by Rhonda Byrne. It’s all about learning how to use gratitude in your daily life to attract positive things. It is brilliant. My definition of beauty is:

Internal beauty is the ultimate beauty. Beauty on the inside can never be taken away or denied and it doesn’t get old. My beauty secret is drinking warm water with lemon. It’s so good for the body and for the skin. It’s natural, inexpensive and does the trick. If money were no object I would travel the world; I would just go everywhere – starting with Bora Bora, a small South Paci c island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia. In my purse there’s always

hand sanitiser, lip balm and my phone charger. (I can’t say my cell phone because that’s always in my hand.) I am currently obsessed with tness. What excites me most about my work is

that I love what I do. It’s a blessing to get paid for something you love; waking up every day and knowing that your dreams have come true is amazing. Also meeting phenomenal people as part of what I do. My view on ‘slacktivism’ is:

We must always use the internet for a good purpose; we must go beyond the cyber requirements to support a cause. We are physically, mentally and spiritually needed to make a real change. Not only through sharing our opinions on social media, but by being physically involved in trying to make a change in an existing movement. mc FULL CIRCLE Boity was one of the celebs featured in Marie Claire South Africa’s ‘Naked’ issue in 2014.
