GOOD TO THE LAST DROP SET

Time for one exercise? Do a drop set. A new study found that just one dumbbell curl drop set (doing reps to failure, reducing the weight by 50%, and doing more reps) improved muscle strength, size, and endurance in less time than other lifting techniques did.

DON’T OBEY YOUR THIRST

In a four-university study, endurance cyclists rode a faster 30K when they hydrated to replace sweated-out fluid instead of just drinking when they were thirsty. Weigh yourself before and after a workout to assess fluid loss. Drink that much when you train.

NEVER GET OLD

The fountain of youth: regular training. A Brigham Young researcher who analysed the cellular ages of 5823 adults found that the people who were highly active were biologically nearly nine years younger than their low-activity counterparts.
