Man turns himself in after brutal murder
A 25-year-old man appeared in court this week following the murder of a 23-year-old man in the Izinyoka settlement.
The murder suspect turned himself in at the Da Gamaskop police station.
According to information from the police, the deceased Zikisa Ngubo attacked and stabbed the man, now accused of his murder, with a knife earlier on Sunday, 24 September. After the altercation, the murder suspect according to the police, fetched a knife from his home. After seeking out and finding Ngubo playing video games at a friend's home, the murder suspect stabbed his victim three times, which included a wound to the chest.
Ngubo died at the scene. The murder suspect, after being convinced by his brother, turned himself in and also confessed to the crime committed upon arriving at the police station.
He appeared in the Mossel Bay magistrate's court on Wednesday.
The case is being investigated by Wo A Stokes of the Da Gamaskop police.
