Young people making a difference
Sao Bras High School’s peer educator group members are making sure they are doing all they can to make a difference in the community this year.
In June they hosted a programme for Child Protection Week, handing out bears and cupcakes to children in rural areas.
Mandela Day saw them paint the walls at the D’Almeida Stadium. Here, their work attracted so many compliments, that they were asked to paint more walls.
For Women’s Month, they did an outreach to pamper women and girls, by doing their nails, make-up, and hair.
Eats and drinks were shared and the girls who attended were given sanitary products to take home.
Later this year, they will host an HIV/AIDS memorial service to honour those who have lost their lives to this virus.
The Sao Bras peer educators have been busy this year.
