Free trai­ning for all mo­tor­cy­clis­ts

The Chris­ti­an Mo­tor­cy­clis­ts' As­so­ci­a­ti­on (CMA) will pre­sent a free ba­sic ri­ding school cour­se in Mos­sel Bay for all mo­tor­cy­clis­ts on Sa­tur­day, 14 Oc­to­ber. Mo­tor­cy­cle trai­ner and CMA mem­ber Giel Huis­a­men says: "If you ri­de a mo­tor­bi­ke, no mat­ter your ex­pe­rien­ce or how old you are, do at­tend this, be­cau­se you will be­ne­fit from it hu­ge­ly. "We all think we can ri­de well, but most pe­op­le do not know the ba­si­cs of ri­ding and that is why they will ne­ver be con­fi­dent ri­ding through cor­ners, for in­stan­ce.

"You need to le­arn a­bout coun­ter s­teer­ing and why a mo­tor­cy­cle be­ha­ves the way it does. Not on­ly will you be­co­me a better and sa­fer ri­der, but you will en­joy your bi­ke a lot mo­re," Huis­a­men says. The trai­ning will start at 09:00 at the De Bak­ke par­king a­rea. "We will first do the the­o­ry on all as­pects of ri­ding in the re­stau­rant buil­ding (Long­bo­ard Ro­ad­hou­se). On­ce that is do­ne we will practi­se e­mer­gen­cy bra­king and swer­ving, coun­ter s­teer­ing and bi­ke con­t­rol." The cour­se should end by a­bout 13:00.
