Members of the Southern Cape Rocks pebble art group had a get together, titled

Klipklets en Koffie, in Hartenbos on Saturday, 10 October.

Southern Cape Rocks is one of the Facebook groups for pet rock artists.

The pebble painters usually place their little artworks in strategic places - on boardwalks, walkways or other places where many people meet. People can then pick them up and keep them or lay them in another place for someone else to pick up. Often the rocks have encouraging words painted on them.

Cathy le Roux, who is an administration member of the social media group, organised the get together on Saturday.

She said: "I felt the artists needed to meet. We have interaction every day on the Facebook page, but many had not met one another face to face. Attendees were full of gratitude and praise for the opportunity to socialise and exchange ideas.

"I suggested we have another meeting in mid-December. We hope to have a large painted pebble treasure hunt for all ages, tots to grandparents."
