Treat your family to these delicious easy to make Morvite and coconut scones
MORVITE AND COCONUT SCONES Makes 12 INGREDIENTS
250ml (1 cup) Morvite Vanilla Flavour
500ml (2 cups) cake wheat flour 3ml (½ teaspoon) salt 20ml (4 teaspoons) baking powder 120g butter or margarine 150g (¾ cup) sugar 125ml (½ cup) desiccated coconut zest of ½ lemon 2 eggs, beaten 125ml (½ cup) butter milk
Preheat the oven to 200°C. Grease a baking tray.
Sift together all the dry ingredients. Rub in the butter until the mixture resembles fine crumbs.
Add the sugar and coconut. Make a well in the centre and pour in the beaten egg and buttermilk.
Mix to a soft dough. Turn out onto a floured surface and roll out to 12mm thickness.
Cut into desired shapes, brush with the egg and milk mixture and bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown.
Serve with whipped cream and jam.
