Baby on the way for TV couple
Mzwandile and Nolwazi are expecting a baby boy
THIS year has been an emotional rollercoaster for celebrities. It looks like it’s time for blessings again with celebrity babies on the way. House vocalist Tamara Dey recently announced that she’s in the second trimester of her pregnancy. Meanwhile, TV personalities Mzwandile Ngubeni and Nolwazi Shange are also expecting their first child.
The former Mina Nawe actress announced her pregnancy by posting an ultrasound image on her Twitter account. The caption said: “It’s official. #BabyNtsika.” Mzwandile was recently quoted in the media as saying that they are thrilled at the prospect of being parents. They'll welcome their bundle of joy in November.
Mzwandile, who hosts SABC2 game show Game Plan, expressed his expectation for their baby boy to an online publication, saying they’re looking forward to missing out on sleep.
“We’re looking forward to sleepless nights. His mother named him Ntsika because we believe he will be the pillar of this family,” he said.
The couple, who have been together for seven years, tied the knot in a beautiful traditional wedding in Durban last year.
They met through work in 2010 and have been inseparable ever since.
Mzwandile told another publication that when he met Nolwazi, he knew she was the one. Nolwazi was also quoted as saying, “I love how normal everything feels; it feels right.”
In the interview, Mzwandile explained that Ntsika was not planned but they will receive the blessing with open arms.
“We are happy and feeling blessed. It all happens at the right time because we got married last year. We feel that it happened in God’s timing since we were not even trying to have a baby. We welcome the blessing with both hands,” he said
Even though the couple didn’t plan the pregnancy, they have already put plans in place for the newest addition to their family.
According to reports, Mzwandile is taking extra jobs to be financially prepared for the baby’s arrival.
“We don’t want to look like we did not know that he was coming. We are just making sure that we are ready, even financially,” he says.
Nolwazi, who is also a casting director and founder of Africazi Media, rose to fame in the role of Precious in the SABC1 drama series A Place Called Home.
The company has already cast for feature film Nothing For Mahala and the drama series Umlilo. Her hubby has featured in a number of roles on the small screen, including a stints on Isidingo, Generations and City Ses'la. He has also presented various game shows.
