‘I spent R4.2mil on surgery’
A HEAVYSET man has undergone over 100 cosmetic surgeries within a four-year period so that he could look like a famous Chinese actress.
LIN SISI, 37, comes from Chongqing in south-western China, a sprawling city at the confluence of the Yangtze and Jialing rivers. The stocky man, reportedly 168 centimetres tall and once weighing as much as 140 kilogrammes, wants to look like Chinese comedienne and actress Lydia Shum.
Shum, who died in 2008 aged 62, was known for her portly figure, dark rimmed glasses and bouffant hairstyle, and was affectionately dubbed ‘Fatty’ by fans and media.
According to the press, Lin Sisi spent over R4.2-million on surgeries between 2009 and 2013 to look like the deceased star.
He reportedly forks out
R211 000 each year to maintain his glowing skin.
The 37-year-old also saw his weight plummet to 95 kilogrammes and has been invited to take part in dozens of TV shows and media events. He first got the taste for performing in drag when he took to the stage in 2004 dressed as famous Chinese concubine Yang Guifei. Initially, Sisi’s mother strongly opposed his drag obsession but soon caved in and started to support his planned stage career.
He reportedly used to have a girlfriend, but they split up when her parents opposed the union. Sisi, who runs a restaurant alongside his stage appearances, admits that he used to go out with women but now does not ‘see anything in them’.
